Binger Sommernacht

The Binger Sommernacht is a special kind of summer event: instead of large marquees and town square festivities, it takes place at one of Bingen's most beautiful viewpoints – on the Wiese am Nussbaum (Meadow at the Nut Tree) at the foot of the Rochusberg, nestled in the Bingen vineyards. From July 22nd to 26th, 2026, the location will become an open-air summer lounge for five evenings, featuring wine, music, and Rhine views.

Wine from Bingen Vintners

The focus is on the wine from Bingen's vintners. They serve directly from their stalls in the vineyard – from dry Rieslings and Burgundy varieties to rosé and sparkling wine. The selection is curated for a relaxed summer evening: wines that are perfect for enjoying outdoors.

Live Music and Lounge Atmosphere

Over the five evenings, live bands, singer-songwriters, and DJs will alternate on stage. The program ranges from acoustic cover sets and pop and folk music to DJ sets that carry the evening into the night. Seating, lounge chairs, and standing tables create a lounge atmosphere.

Wiese am Nussbaum

The Wiese am Nussbaum is an open meadow area on the Rochusberg, which on clear days offers a wide view over the Rhine Valley, the mouth of the Nahe river, and up to the Niederwald Monument near Rüdesheim. At sunset, a play of light emerges here, which is the charm of the Sommernacht.

Part of Bingen's Festival Year

The Sommernacht is one of several top events in Bingen's annual calendar – alongside the Binger Winzerfest (Bingen Vintner Festival), the Rochusfest, the Sektfest (Sparkling Wine Festival) at Burg Klopp, the Nacht der Verführung (Night of Seduction), and Rhein in Flammen (Rhine in Flames). Together, they make Bingen one of the most vibrant wine towns on the Middle Rhine.
