High above Rothenfels, Bavaria's smallest town, the youth castle on the Main offers an all-year-round educational and conference program: conferences, concerts, dance and music courses, as well as religious and cultural education weeks. Following the tradition of the Quickborn youth movement, the castle has been run as an independent educational center since 1919.

In 2026, the educational and conference program at Rothenfels Castle continues year-round. A highlight is the traditional Whitsun Conference from Friday, May 22, to Monday, May 25, 2026. It is complemented by a conference on Renaissance dance and music, concerts, courses, and educational weeks.

The year 2026 offers a continuous program of conferences, concerts, and courses at Rothenfels Castle. The outstanding event is the Rothenfels Whitsun Conference from May 22 to 25, 2026, around the Whitsun holiday – one of the castle's most traditional events. In autumn, a conference on Renaissance dance and music will take place, among other events. Throughout the year, the "Junge Tagungen" (Young People's Conferences), the August workshop week of Quickborn, concerts, and seminars complement the educational program. Youth Castle Above the Main

Rothenfels Castle towers above the town of Rothenfels on the Main – with just over 1,000 inhabitants, it is Bavaria's smallest town – in the Main-Spessart district. Acquired in 1919 by the Catholic youth movement Quickborn, the castle is today supported by the "Association of Friends of Burg Rothenfels e.V." independently of state and church structures.

Throughout the year, the castle offers a dense educational and conference program: conferences on religious, social, and artistic topics, concerts, dance and music courses, educational weeks, and the "Junge Tagungen" (Young People's Conferences), which are organized by young people for their peers. Liturgy, music, dance, and dialogue across generations and denominations shape the profile.
