Castle, Park, May Festival
Schloss Biesdorf is a 19th-century neoclassical manor house with a spacious park — today the home of the Center for Art and Public Space. Surrounding it is the Schlosspark Biesdorf, one of the most beautiful parks in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district. It is here that the showman and event company Jüttner Entertainment hosts the Biesdorfer Blütenfest every May — a traditional, three-day folk celebration for the spring bloom.
Motto: "Tradition Meets Modernity"
The festival combines classic Berlin folk festival elements (May Crown, festival parade, stage music) with contemporary staging (two stages, large fire shows, street food). The motto "Tradition Meets Modernity" aptly describes the concept.
Two Stages
- Main Stage: Live bands, major acts, stage moderation. Focus on pop, rock, cover bands
- Schlager Stage: Schlager and East German music classics — typical for a Volksfest in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district, where Schlager remains an important genre
Both stages feature parallel programming on all three days, allowing visitors to choose between the two atmospheres.
Traditional May Crown and Blossom Prince Couple
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, the traditional raising of the May Crown will take place at 11:45 AM — an old spring custom that is now only maintained at a few festivals in Berlin. This will be followed by the coronation of the Blossom Prince and Princess couple — a young couple is chosen as the symbol of the festival and leads the family parade on Sunday. The custom has been part of the Biesdorfer Blütenfest for decades and is an integral part of the festival's character.
Family Program
- Children's Attractions: Carousel, bouncy castle, play stations
- Sunday Show with Bailey & Büker: from 2 PM music and games especially for children
- Club Mile with stands from local sports and cultural clubs — a low-threshold opportunity to attract new members
Marzahn-Hellersdorf and Biesdorf
Biesdorf is a rather quiet district in Marzahn-Hellersdorf, characterized by single-family homes and large green spaces. Unlike the neighboring prefabricated housing estates of Marzahn and Hellersdorf, Biesdorf has rural roots — several old farms, the village church, and the castle. The Blütenfest has been the most important cultural event here for years and shapes the district's self-understanding.
