Berlin's big craft beer festival – for ten years
Since 2016, the Berlin Beer Week has established itself as the most important German festival for the craft beer scene. For ten days, the festival demonstrates that Berlin is the "capital of craft beer" for fans of craft-brewed beers – with an active local brewing scene and an international audience traveling from all over Europe.
Unlike a classic beer festival, the Berlin Beer Week has no central festival grounds. Instead, the festival takes place at dozens of locations throughout the city: in the premises of Berlin's craft breweries (Stone, BRLO, Schneeeule, Berlin Lager Lab, Hops & Barley, Heidenpeters, among others), in specialized craft beer bars (Vagabund, Hops & Barley, Birra & Blues, Muted Horn, Hopfenreich, among others), and on the Spree river.
The hallmark of the Beer Week are the Brews Cruises – three-hour cruises on the Spree, combined with tastings, a live DJ, and views of the Berlin skyline. Usually, six cruises are offered per edition, each with a different focus: regional, US craft, European, sour, dark, etc. The brewers themselves are sometimes on board, explaining the beers live.
The 2026 edition marks the tenth anniversary of the Berlin Beer Week. The Closing Brews Cruise on the last day bundles the best craft beers from ten years and is traditionally celebrated as a big reunion of the international scene.
The 2026 edition marks the tenth festival year. From Friday, August 28 to Sunday, September 6, 2026, tastings, tap takeovers, brewing seminars, concerts, and DJ sets will take place throughout the city. The hallmark remains the Brews Cruises – Spree river cruises with a live DJ, beer tastings, and views of the Berlin skyline.
In 2026, a total of six Brews Cruises will take place: on the weekends of August 28/29 and September 4/5, 2026. Each cruise lasts three hours, with a different focus – regional, American, European, sour, dark. The Closing Brews Cruise on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 6 to 9 PM, showcases the best craft beers from ten years of Beer Week.

Brews Cruises and individual specials require tickets (usually €25–€50). Partner events in bars and breweries mostly have free admission, with beer at daily prices.
The Brews Cruises start at changing piers along the Spree (often Friedrichstraße, Jannowitzbrücke, Treptower Park). Partner events are spread across all Berlin districts – public transport is highly recommended.
