Summer Festival at 1090 Meters
The Spitzingsee is located at an altitude of around 1090 meters in the Schliersee mountains β a spectacular setting for one of Upper Bavaria's most atmospheric summer festivals. The Bergseefest is organized by the Spitzingsee mountain community (Berggemeinschaft Spitzingsee e.V.) together with the municipality of Schliersee and takes place directly on the lakeshore. For two days, the mountain lake becomes a meeting point for locals and guests.
Delicacies, Tombola, and Bull Riding
Local hosts and clubs provide the catering: grilled fish, roast chicken, sausages, Kaiserschmarrn, and homemade cakes, along with beer from BrΓ€u z'Loh, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. The program includes a large tombola with 1000 tickets and prizes such as mountain bikes and e-scooters, a bike race on Friday evening, and bull riding on both days.
The Grand Finale Fireworks
The highlight is the grand finale fireworks on Saturday evening after dark. Over the dark mountain lake and against the mountain backdrop, it unfolds its special effect β the moment many visitors eagerly await all evening. Afterwards, the Alte Spinnradl opens exclusively for the after-party.
Schliersee and Spitzingsee β Alpine Region in the Miesbach District
The Spitzingsee belongs to the municipality of Schliersee in the Miesbach district in the state of Bavaria, right in the heart of the Tegernsee-Schliersee Alpine region. As one of Bavaria's highest lakes, it is a popular destination for hikers and winter sports enthusiasts β during the Bergseefest, it transforms into the grand festival stage for the mountain community once a summer.
