A classical open-air summer concert — Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 5:00 PM, Stadtpark Concert Shell
The Bergische Symphoniker — the joint orchestra of the cities of Remscheid and Solingen — maintain a lovely tradition: In summer, they not only perform in the theatre but also move concerts to green spaces. On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM, they will come to the Konzertmuschel in Stadtpark Remscheid on Johann-Peter-Arns-Weg, a historic open-air pavilion with excellent acoustics under the open sky.
Under the musical direction of Samira Nasser, the orchestra will play an accessible summer program of symphonic sounds and popular melodies — classical overtures, film music classics, waltzes, and shorter orchestral pieces that will engage even novice listeners. The concept is explicitly low-threshold and free of charge, aiming to bring classical music outdoors and to a wider audience.
Like any open-air concert in our latitudes, this one is also weather-dependent. In case of heavy rain or thunderstorms, the concert may be cancelled at short notice — the orchestra will make an official weather decision on the day of the concert. Current information at bergischesymphoniker.de.
The open-air concert is part of the "Remscheider Sommer 2026" series — a bouquet of free open-air events in the Stadtpark and other locations in the city, combining concerts, theatre, family activities, and open-air culture.
Remscheid, with just under 110,000 inhabitants, is located in the Bergisches Land, east of Cologne and Düsseldorf, in a hilly, densely wooded landscape. The city is known as a "tool city" — the tool and cutlery industry has shaped its economic history (keyword: Solingen blades, Remscheid tools). The Stadtpark is a green oasis in the city center and a popular summer meeting place. With its concert shell, it boasts a historic open-air stage that regularly hosts concerts of all genres.
As part of the Remscheider Sommer 2026 series, the Bergische Symphoniker will perform a summery, accessible program in Remscheid's Stadtpark. Open-air, free, with the historic acoustics of the concert shell. Weather-related changes will be communicated via bergischesymphoniker.de and remscheid-live.de.
