Monthly classic and youngtimer car meetups on the forecourt of the Technik Museum Speyer — five dates in 2026 from April to September, on the first Sunday of each month
The Benzingespräch is an established format in the Southern German classic and youngtimer calendar. Unlike major classic car rallies or Concours d’Elegance events, it is a casual, monthly meetup — an atmosphere reminiscent of the famous "Cars & Coffee" gatherings of the international scene. Owners of historic vehicles drive onto the forecourt of the Technik Museum, park their cars, drink coffee, and chat about technology, restoration, spare parts, and experiences.
The 2026 season comprises five dates. They follow the principle of "first Sunday of the month, except May": April 12 (Kick-off), June 7, July 5, August 2, and September 6, 2026. From 9 AM to 2 PM each time — in the morning, which corresponds to the classic "breakfast meet" format of the classic car scene. The May date is cancelled due to other major events.
The season opener on Sunday, April 12, 2026, will be particularly festive. The band Tascosa from Mannheim will play live music, stage interviews with interesting vehicle owners will be conducted, and the culinary offerings will be expanded. It also marks the start of the anniversary year — the Benzingespräch has firmly established itself in the event calendar of the Southern German classic car scene in recent seasons.
The venue is the forecourt of the Technik Museum Speyer — a spacious open area between the museum halls featuring original aircraft, locomotives, and space travel models. The combination of historic technology (in the museum) and private classic/youngtimer ownership (on the forecourt) creates a unique atmosphere. The event is freely accessible; museum visits are possible separately.
The spectrum of vehicles presented is broad: classic sports cars (Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo), American classics (Mustang, Chevrolet, Cadillac), small German classics (VW Beetle, Opel Manta, Ford Capri), youngtimers from the 80s and 90s. Motorcycles are also represented. There is no restriction on the make of the car — anyone driving a historic vehicle is welcome.
The 2026 Benzingespräch season includes five monthly dates between April and September. The May date is cancelled due to major events. The season opener on April 12 is the most festive edition.
The exact program for each individual date (stage program, guests) will be published by the museum in advance.
