Kollmar on the Elbe

Kollmar is a municipality with just under 1,500 inhabitants in the Steinburg district of Schleswig-Holstein, directly on the lower Elbe opposite Wedel. The harbour with its distinctive Kollmar lighthouse shapes the village's appearance. In summer, the harbour becomes a stage for small village events, including the Beachparty to mark the start of the school holidays.

The Format

The Beachparty runs on a Monday afternoon from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM — shortly after school ends on the last regular school day, thus serving as a kick-off for the summer holidays. A communal start for schoolchildren and families from Kollmar and the surrounding marshland landscape.
