Beach handball on Mecklenburg's widest sandy beach

The Beachhandball Cup Warnemünde has been held in the Strand Arena of the Baltic Sea resort since 2022. The venue is Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's widest sandy beach, which offers a striking backdrop for the tournament under the lighthouse and the Teepott. Over a hundred teams participate every year – many age categories are regularly fully booked.

Age categories and game mode

The tournament includes numerous age categories for boys and girls – from U10/U11 to U18/U19 – as well as a women's class. Depending on the category, games are played in 4+1 or 3+1 mode. This makes the cup suitable for junior teams as well as adult teams and makes beach handball accessible to a wide age range.

Schedule and atmosphere

The tournament begins on Friday evening with a festive opening and the first games. Saturday is an intensive match day, with activity stations inviting participation in parallel. Sunday features final matches and award ceremonies. Accompanying activities make the Beachhandball Cup a sociable weekend on the beach.
