The Weihnachtsmarkt Köllerbach in Burg Bucherbach is one of the most atmospheric Christmas markets in the Regionalverband Saarbrücken. The medieval castle ruin is located in the Köllerbach district of Püttlingen, nestled in the idyllic Köllertal valley. During the market, the castle walls are festively illuminated, and the stalls are crowded in the castle courtyard and at the keep.

Burg Bucherbach

Burg Bucherbach is a lowland castle in the Köllerbach valley, built in the 13th century and fell into disrepair in the 19th century after several renovations. Today, it is publicly accessible as a castle park and hosts various events – from the summer castle festival to the Christmas market in Advent. The historic setting gives the market a unique character.

Püttlingen and the Köllertal

Püttlingen is a town in the western Köllertal with just under 19,000 inhabitants. The Köllerbach district is located north of the main town. The Köllertal valley itself is characterized by rolling hills, old farmhouses, and scattered orchards – a pleasant Advent landscape.
