Biker party with chainsaw carving by the lake in the Lausitzer Seenland — July 17-19, 2026
There are festivals that combine elements that seem to have little in common at first glance — and in doing so, create a unique experience. The Beach & Bike Festival at Grünewalder Lauch is exactly such a celebration. From July 17-19, 2026, Themencamping transforms the beach and the adjacent grounds at Grünewalder Lauch — a small lake in southern Brandenburg, part of the Lausitzer Seenland — into a three-day festival site. The main target audience is motorcyclists and hobby bikers, but the festival is also open to families and anyone who enjoys a relaxed beach festival with hearty music.
The most original program item is undoubtedly the chainsaw carving. In front of the audience, wood artists work on large tree trunks with their chainsaws, creating sculptures within a few hours — bears, owls, horses, abstract forms. The mix of raw material, screaming saws, and emerging art is a spectacle of a special kind. At the end of the festival, the finished sculptures are auctioned or raffled off — finding a new home with a festival guest.
The stage on the beach offers live music for three days. The focus is on classic biker music — Rock, Blues, Country, and Southern Rock. Cover bands pay tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, and AC/DC, complemented by local Brandenburg acts and singer-songwriters who play between the main concerts. Headliner bands perform on Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday morning features a relaxed blues brunch to gently round off the event.
Those who want the full festival experience can stay overnight directly at the festival grounds in the camping area. Pitches for tents, caravans, and motorhomes are available — advance reservation is recommended, as Themencamping has been fully booked repeatedly in recent years. Sanitary facilities, showers, power connections, and a small festival supermarket are available on site. The lake is open for swimming during the festival — and is the perfect way to beat the heat on warm July days.
The Grünewalder Lauch is one of the oldest and smallest lakes in the Lausitzer Seenland — a water area created from former open-cast lignite mining, which has become a tourist marvel over the last 30 years. Unlike the large mining lakes (Senftenberger See, Geierswalder See), the Grünewalder Lauch is a naturally grown forest lake, surrounded by pine forests and small sandy beaches. Lauchhammer, an industrial city with a tradition of steel and mechanical engineering, with just under 16,000 inhabitants, is now the gateway to the Lausitzer Seenland and a starting point for cycling tours around the lakes.
From July 17-19, 2026, the Grünewalder Lauch will once again transform into the most popular biker and beach festival in the Lausitzer Seenland. The organizer is Themencamping in cooperation with the city of Lauchhammer.
The event kicks off on Friday evening with an opening party and the first live acts. Saturday is the most intense festival day with main concerts, a chainsaw carving show, and a motorcycle exhibition. Sunday concludes with a blues brunch and a departure atmosphere.
Admission is charged. Current day and festival passes, as well as camping reservations, are available via themencamping.de. Advance reservation of pitches is strongly recommended.
