BALLER-INA – An East Frisian Insider Tip
Over the past few years, the BALLER-INA Festival has evolved into one of East Frisia's most unique festivals. The 8th edition will take place on June 26, 2026 – on the Blersumer Bolzplatz in the Blersum district of the town of Wittmund. With around 1,000 expected visitors, it is deliberately not a mass festival, but a lovingly curated indie event with a family atmosphere.
Genre Mix: Indie, Pop, Punk, Electronic
The musical profile is diverse: Indie Rock, Pop, Punk, and Electronic – a mix tailored to younger listening habits. The 2026 lineup brings together German bands and acts that are generating attention in the alternative scene:
- KORD – Indie-pop with its own distinct style
- TIAVO – Singer-songwriter with modern production
- Tiny Wolves – Indie-rock trio
- Reis Against The Spülmaschine – with an ironic name and alternative sound, an established name in the German indie-punk scene
Blersumer Bolzplatz as a Stage
The festival takes place on a classic village football pitch – a location that provides its own special identity for BALLER-INA. Instead of large festival stages with high-tech productions, there are compact stage areas, short distances, and close proximity between bands and the audience. It is precisely this character that makes the festival so appealing.
Sustainable – Green Electricity Powered Festival
A hallmark of BALLER-INA: The festival is powered by green electricity. In a festival landscape that often operates ecologically questionably, the team is making a conscious statement. The event positions itself as a sustainability-oriented indie event and proves that even smaller festivals can make a contribution.
Prices and Access
Tickets start at 18 Euros – a price point that keeps the festival affordable for younger audiences. The event starts at 5 PM. This allows the festival to run from the afternoon into the night, making full use of East Frisia's long summer evenings.
A Festival with Its Own Identity
BALLER-INA is not a festival for the masses – and that is precisely its strength. Those looking for an intimate, honest festival atmosphere, good indie music, and an unusual venue will find it here. Eight editions speak for themselves.
