Dance festival in the city center parallel to the Eiermarkt wine festival
„Bad Kreuznach tanzt” is a dance festival that transforms the spa town's city center into an open dance floor once a year. On two days – Friday evening and Saturday in June – squares, streets, and stages are filled with the most diverse dance styles: Salsa, Tango, Ballroom dancing, Modern Dance, Hip-Hop, Belly dance, Folk dances, Swing dance – diversity is the program. Dance schools, clubs, solo artists, and workshops participate; the audience can watch, learn, or dance along themselves.
The festival takes place parallel to the Eiermarkt wine festival (June 5–6) and thus complements the city center's program into a dense weekend experience. Those who want to combine wine, dance, and atmosphere will find a unique mix here.
„Bad Kreuznach tanzt” is part of a growing movement of German cities bringing dance and movement into public spaces. Role models include festivals in Berlin, Hamburg, or Paris („Fête de la Musique” inspired). Dance is not only shown as a performance but also conveyed as a participatory offer – with accessible workshops and open dance floors.
The program includes classical ballroom and Latin American dances, Salsa and Bachata, Tango Argentino, Modern and Contemporary Dance, Hip-Hop and Street Dance, Belly Dance, Folk dances from around the world, Swing dance, Jazz Dance, and Ballet show dance. Dance schools from Bad Kreuznach and the region showcase their work, offer short taster sessions, and invite participation. Anyone can spontaneously start dancing on the open dance floors.
Various squares in the city center are used: Kornmarkt, Salinenplatz, Fischerstraße. Each stage has its own focus, and the audience moves freely between locations. Cafés and restaurants open their outdoor seating areas, and pop-up bars and food trucks provide refreshments. The combination of dance, wine (through the parallel Eiermarkt wine festival), and summer nights is what makes the festival appealing.
From June 5 to 6, 2026, the Eiermarkt wine festival, one of the established wine festivals in Bad Kreuznach, will take place concurrently. Nahe region winemakers will serve their wines at the Eiermarkt – a historic square in the old town – with catering and music. The two festivals complement each other and create a diverse city center program.
„Bad Kreuznach tanzt” 2026 will take place on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, in the city center – parallel to the Eiermarkt wine festival. Various dance styles, stages, workshops, and open dance floors characterize the program. Free admission.
