Schützen- und Volksfest Celle

Centuries of Tradition

The Schützen- und Volksfest Celle is one of the oldest and most traditional marksmen's festivals in Lower Saxony. It is unique in that, instead of a single marksmen's association, five united Celle marksmen's associations jointly organize the festival:

• Altstadt
• Hehlentor
• Neustadt-Altenhäusen
• Neuenhäusen
• Altenceller Vorstadt

Festival Mile on the Allerinsel

The venue is the Allerinsel with Hafenstraße – a central, inner-city festival ground right by the water. Over the five days, the area transforms into a classic Volksfest landscape with a festival tent, amusement rides, shooting galleries, food stalls, game booths, and stage performances.

Marksmen's Core Program

The focus of the marksmen-specific program points are:

• King's shooting by the individual associations
• Grand parade through Celle's city center with all marksmen's associations, pipe bands, and brass bands
• Torchlight procession in the evening with strings of lights
• King's proclamation and ceremonial act
• Grand Zapfenstreich (a traditional military tattoo)

Family and Volksfest Program

In parallel, a family day, children's rides, swings, carousels, and an open festival tent provide classic Volksfest entertainment. Admission to the festival grounds is free.
