The Pedestrian Zone as a Playground
What is usually found between shops and cafes belongs to the children on the day of the Aurich Children's Festival: the pedestrian zone becomes a giant playground. Bouncy castles, movement courses, craft stations, hands-on activities, and mini stage performances are spread across the central streets of the city center.
Clubs, Schools, Initiatives
The festival is organized by Aurich Tourism in cooperation with numerous local clubs, schools, sports clubs, and social initiatives. Each organizer designs their own booth: a sports club presents its taster offers, a music club invites you to try instruments, a craft club offers workshops, a theater group puts on a small performance. This diversity is what gives the day its special charm.
Face Painting and Attractions
Classic children's festival elements are not missing: face painting, skill games, carousels, movement stations, ice cream, and candy stands. All of this is set within a pedestrian zone that gives the day a special urban touch – unlike a traditional children's festival on a meadow.
Free Admission
Admission is free. Individual activity stations may charge a small fee for materials, but the majority of the offerings are free. For families from the Aurich district, it's a perfect afternoon in the city center that is firmly marked in many Aurich family calendars.
