Autumn Fair with Tradition
As the days grow shorter and the first frost is in the air, the lights of the Herbstmarkt (Autumn Market) shine in Aurich. For over ten days from late October to early November, the Sparkassen-Arena parking lot transforms into a fully equipped fairground with everything that characterizes North German autumn folk festivals: height, speed, the scent of cotton candy, and festive fairy lights.
Over 50 Rides
With more than 50 rides, the Aurich Herbstmarkt is one of the largest autumn fairs in East Frisia. The offerings cater to all generations: a Ferris wheel as a visual landmark, a roller coaster or high-thrill ride for adrenaline lovers, bumper cars and Break Dancers, swing carousels, classic ship swings, and numerous children's carousels for the little ones.
Sweet and Savory Treats
The culinary offerings follow fair tradition: Bratwurst, Reibekuchen (potato pancakes), fries, East Frisian specialties, pizza, crêpes on the savory side – cotton candy, almonds, candied apples, gingerbread hearts on the sweet side. Mulled wine stands open as the first cooler evening arrives.
Family Day with Reduced Prices
On the day before the official opening (Wednesday, October 28, 2026), the Family Day offers reduced prices on rides and candy stalls. Families from the entire district take advantage of this date for a fair visit on a smaller budget.
Herbstmarkt Aurich — edition 2026
The Herbstmarkt concludes the Aurich folk festival year 2026 – following the Easter Market in April, the City Festival in August, and the Children's Festival in September. With its ten-day run, it is one of the most extensive autumn fair events in East Frisia.

- Sat Oct 31 / Sun Nov 1: High visitor numbers, Halloween and All Saints' Day focus
