In the Bochumer Bruch — a former limestone quarry in the Niederberg region — lies a 160-meter-long former tunnel, now converted into a geological educational trail. From the entrance on one wall of the quarry, the tunnel leads straight through the rock to the exit on the opposite wall — and in its 160 meters, it tells the story of 400 million years of Earth's history.
