One Night, Nine Bands, Three Stages

The Aquarena-Nacht is Dillenburg's annual summer highlight. On one Saturday in August, the town center of the Oranienstadt transforms into a connected open-air music landscape. In 2026, the Aquarena-Nacht falls on Saturday, August 22nd. On three main stages in the town center, a total of nine live bands will perform, and the short distances between the stages allow for relaxed switching between acts.

The Tribute Concept

Programmatically, the Aquarena-Nacht focuses on tribute bands that reproduce the music compositions of a well-known band as faithfully as possible. Confirmed for 2026 are tributes to: The Beatles (THE PETELES), Volbeat (Still Counting), Metallica (SAD), Def Leppard (Bad LIZARD), System of a Down (Aerials), Aerosmith (BIG ONES), and Andreas Gabalier. Additionally, there will be other regional acts on the Hofgarten stage.

Planet Party Stage in the Hofgarten

While the three main stages cater to the rock and pop audience, the Planet Party Stage in the Hofgarten features its own soundtrack for younger guests – with DJ sets and danceable music. This creates several parallel worlds on one festival evening, with short distances between punk rock, schlager, and chart music.

€8 for Everything

Remarkable: Admission to the entire Aquarena-Nacht costs only €8 – advance online purchase via dillenburg.live, no day pass complexity, no tiered pricing system. This makes the festival affordable for families and students as well. Drinks are served in 0.4-liter cups (€3.50) with a reusable cup system (€1 deposit, or previous year's cup accepted). Four entrances with voucher issuance.

Oranienstadt Dillenburg

Dillenburg is the ancestral town of the House of Orange-Nassau – William of Orange was born here in 1533, and the Wilhelmsturm landmark commemorates the Dutch-German history. Those arriving early on the day of the performance can visit the castle ruins and the Wilhelmsturm Museum before the stages kick off in the evening.
