Classical and chamber music festival around Lake Ammersee
The AMMERSEErenade is a classical and art festival that transforms the idyllic lake landscape around Lake Ammersee into a stage for top-class chamber music. Lake Ammersee is located in the Upper Bavarian Fünf-Seen-Land (Five Lakes Region); the venues are spread across municipalities in the districts of Landsberg am Lech and Starnberg. Dießen am Ammersee forms one of the central anchors of the festival.
As the home festival of the Munich metropolitan region, the AMMERSEErenade is characterized by unusual concert locations: rustic barns in the Alpine foothills, Baroque churches, traditional inns, and the legendary Florian-Stadl at the world-famous Andechs Monastery. This combination of high-caliber music and atmospheric venues shapes the character of the festival.
International soloists create programs that combine classical chamber music with acting and crossover elements. This results in evenings that uniquely blend music and language, appealing to a broad audience.
The AMMERSEErenade is one of the most prominent classical festivals in the Upper Bavarian pre-Alpine region, combining cultural enjoyment with the lifestyle of the Ammersee region. For the communities around the lake, the festival is a cultural highlight of the summer.
The AMMERSEErenade 2026 runs from June 12 to 19 around Lake Ammersee. It opens on June 12 with "Romantic Vibrations" at the Haus der Bayerischen Landwirtschaft in Herrsching am Ammersee: Kirill Troussov (violin) and Alexandra Troussova (piano) perform together with actor Heino Ferch, who reads from letters by Clara and Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. On June 13, "Masters & New Generation" follows at the Church of the Visitation of Mary in Utting am Ammersee with artists such as Martin Fuchs (clarinet), Kiril Troussov (violin), and Dora Kokas (violoncello). Further concerts lead to extraordinary venues around the lake, including the Florian-Stadl at Andechs Monastery.
