Garden Party Amidst Rhododendrons

The Ammerländer Gartentage are a true institution: In just one weekend, the D.G. Hobbie Rhododendron Park in Westerstede-Petersfeld transforms into a vibrant garden market with around 100 exhibitors from all over Germany. The event combines stylish shopping with the experience of one of North Germany's most beautiful rhododendron parks — and precisely at the time of the onset of flowering.

22nd Edition on May 9 and 10, 2026

The 2026 edition is the 22nd edition of the Garden Days and will take place on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The exhibitors set up their stands along the historic park paths, allowing visitors to stroll among blooming rhododendrons and receive advice.

What Will Be Showcased

The offerings range from perennials, roses, rhododendrons, and rare woody plants to garden decorations, sculptures, ceramics, and metalwork, as well as furniture, planters, and gardening books. Exhibitors focusing on topics such as natural gardens, bee-friendliness, tomato varieties, and Mediterranean plants are also regularly represented. Food and café areas provide places for breaks between shopping.

Rhododendron Park Hobbie — Heritage of Nursery Art

The park belongs to the D.G. Hobbie nursery, one of Germany's most traditional rhododendron breeders. Along spacious paths, visitors can experience around 1,000 different rhododendron varieties — the early bloomers start in late April, with the peak typically in mid-May. The Garden Days are thus perfectly timed.
