Festival weekend in the old town

The Altstadtfest Wusterhausen/Dosse is the traditional summer festival of the historic Dosse town in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district. It takes place annually in early summer – in 2026 on the weekend of June 5th and 6th. The venue is the medieval old town around the market square, Pfarrgasse, and the historic town hall.

Programme Features

The Altstadtfest is organised by the Festival Committee of the Town of Wusterhausen. The typical programme structure includes:

• Stage programme on the market square with regional bands, dance groups, and choirs.
• Colourful market with craftspeople, regional producers, and food stalls.
• Festive atmosphere in Pfarrgasse with decorated houses.
• Children's and family activities (bouncy castle, craft stations).
• Local gastronomy with outdoor seating and food in the old town.

Art Raffle "Sommerfrische Positionen"

Accompanying the Altstadtfest in 2026 is the raffle for the railway station art project "Kunst am Weg – Sommerfrische Positionen". The art project connects contemporary artists with the Wusterhausen railway station area – the raffle of the awarded works is part of the festival weekend.

Wusterhausen/Dosse – Town on the Dosse

With around 5,700 inhabitants, Wusterhausen/Dosse is a central town in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district. The town is located on the river Dosse, which flows into the Kyritzer Untersee. The old town, with its medieval structure, half-timbered houses, St. Peter and Paul Church, and the 16th-century town hall, is a worthwhile destination for city walkers.

The festival committee is supported by local associations, the local heritage society, and the town administration. Local restaurateurs keep their establishments open during the festival weekend and provide culinary catering for guests.
