Fallersleben — Historic District with Tradition

Fallersleben is one of Wolfsburg's oldest districts and the birthplace of the poet Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798–1874), the author of the German national anthem. With its castle, St. Mary's Church (Liebfrauenkirche), and many historic townhouses, the district preserves its unique character and special atmosphere to this day. The Altstadtfest makes this historic substance tangible as a festival backdrop.

Four Stages and 15 Bands

With four stages and a total of 15 bands and artists, the Altstadtfest 2026 offers an exceptionally diverse musical program. The stages are spread across Denkmalplatz and Bahnhofstrasse, creating a decentralized festival event where visitors can move between venues and experience different musical styles. Confirmed bands include Run4cover, Kein Pardon, Gent's Rock, and The Open Gate, covering a broad stylistic spectrum from rock and pop to Schlager and cover versions.

Culinary Delights and Handicrafts

Around 75 stalls offer a diverse range of food, drinks, and handicrafts. Bratwurst, burgers, crêpes, cocktails, beer, coffee, cakes, and hearty specialties ensure no one goes home hungry. Artisans present their works for sale, underscoring the local and rural-urban character of the festival.
