The Aichbachtaler Volksfest is the annual local festival of the Lower Bavarian municipality of Niederaichbach in the district of Landshut. In 2026, it will be its 37th edition and will run from May 7th to 10th in the festival tent of the Ismair family. Four days of festivities with beer from the Landshut brewery, Lower Bavarian festival cuisine, sports program, family afternoon, tractor meeting and – as a premiere in 2026 – a craft market on Saturday and Sunday.

Aichbachtaler Volksfest — edition 2026

From May 7th to 10th, 2026, the 37th edition of the Aichbachtaler Volksfest will take place in Niederaichbach. Four days of festival tent hosted by the Ismair brothers with beer from the Landshut brewery, a sports program, a family afternoon, a tractor meeting, and – as a premiere in 2026 – a craft market on the weekend.

The 37th Aichbachtaler Volksfest 2026 will take place from Thursday, May 7th, to Sunday, May 10th, 2026, at the Niederaichbach festival grounds. The Ismair brothers are the hosts, and the Landshuter Brauhaus is the beer supplier.

New in the 2026 program: For the first time, a craft market will be held on Saturday, May 9th, and Sunday, May 10th, from 12 PM to 6 PM each day – featuring regional handicrafts and demonstrations.

Getting There

By car: Take the A92 Munich–Deggendorf motorway, exit Niederaichbach, festival grounds in the town center. By train: Niederaichbach station on the Landshut–Plattling line, a few minutes' walk from the station to the festival grounds.

Volksfest in the Isar Valley

The Aichbachtaler Volksfest is the traditional local Volksfest (popular festival) of the municipality of Niederaichbach in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut – right on the Isar river between Landshut and Plattling. 2026 will celebrate its 37th edition. The festival hosts are the Ismair brothers, who run the festival tent and stand for traditional Bavarian festival cuisine.

Program over Four Festival Days

The Volksfest runs from Thursday to Sunday (May 7–10, 2026) and offers a packed program: Thursday opening and kickoff evening, Friday sports program and festival evening, Saturday family afternoon, tractor meeting and main festival evening, Sunday morning pint and festival finale. A premiere in 2026 is a craft market on Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 6 PM each day – featuring regional craft businesses, handicrafts, and culinary delights.

Festival Beer and Festival Cuisine

The beer service is provided by the Landshuter Brauhaus, one of Lower Bavaria's traditional breweries. The Ismair brothers are responsible for the festival tent catering with classic Bavarian inn cuisine: roast pork, pork knuckles, grilled fish on a stick, platters, roast chicken. Live music in the festival tent ranges from folk music and brass band music to modern party bands. In addition, there are classic amusement rides and carousels.

Niederaichbach in the District of Landshut

Niederaichbach is located on the Isar river, about 15 km east of Landshut. The municipality is known, among other things, for the former Niederaichbach nuclear power plant (decommissioning now complete) and for its strong club culture. Besides parish festivals (Kirchweih) and village festivals, the Aichbachtaler Volksfest is the biggest festival of the year in the municipality – an important meeting point for the Lower Bavarian region between the Isar and Vils rivers.
