Precursor to the Big 24h Classic

The 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers have established themselves as a standalone event in recent years. They serve as direct preparation for the main 24-hour race and traditionally take place several weeks before it. The weekend is crucial for many teams: it's where the crew, car, and strategy are tested under real conditions, and where decisions about the starting grid are made.

Two Four-Hour Races

The format consists of two four-hour races, which are held as rounds 4 and 5 of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). This combines two worlds: the NLS regulations, which include many private teams and amateur drivers, and the special qualification for the 24h race. For spectators, this creates an action-packed weekend with a direct connection to the main event.

Nordschleife as the Stage

Like the main race, the qualifying also takes place on the over 20-kilometer-long Nordschleife. The infamous track sections – Brünnchen, Pflanzgarten, Adenauer Forst – are accessible during the weekend, offering a particularly intense track experience. Camping is also possible, albeit on a smaller scale than for the main race.

High Spectator Interest

Due to the direct link to the 24h race, the Qualifiers regularly attract significant spectator interest. For many fans, attending both events is part of their annual rhythm: first the qualifying in April, then the main race in May. Together, these dates mark the highlight of the early season at the Nürburgring.
