Wine Culture in the Steigerwald Wine Village of Abtswind
The Abtswind Wine Festival is among the best-known and most atmospheric wine festivals in Franconia. It is organized by the Fremdenverkehrs- und Heimatverein Abtswind e.V. (Tourism and Heritage Association) in the wine village of the same name at the foot of the Steigerwald in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen, Bavaria – one of Franconia's most traditional wine-growing regions.

The festival traditionally takes place on all Saturdays in October in a heated marquee. This allows you to enjoy Franconian wine culture comfortably even during the cooler season. Selected wines, excellent cuisine, and proven organization ensure a thoroughly successful festival experience.
New Music Every Saturday
A hallmark of the festival: A different musical group provides entertainment each festival Saturday – from mood music to party sounds. Over the five festival Saturdays, the event can welcome several thousand guests, making it one of the largest wine festivals in the region.

The Abtswind Wine Festival 2026 will be celebrated on all Saturdays in October 2026 in the heated marquee. The opening will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 5 PM, with »Weinfest Vibes mit DJ Wiesel«. Each of the five festival Saturdays will feature a different musical group taking over the entertainment program, creating a unique atmosphere each weekend. Selected Franconian wines, excellent cuisine, and proven organization characterize the festival, which can welcome several thousand guests over the five Saturdays.

Getting There
Abtswind is located in the Kitzingen district of Lower Franconia at the foot of the Steigerwald, accessible via the A3 motorway (Wiesentheid exit) and regional roads. Parking is available on the outskirts of the village.
Admission / Reservations
The festival takes place in a heated marquee. Table reservations are possible for groups of at least 8 people; inquiries via [email protected].
Tip
The festival starts at 5 PM on Saturdays. As the marquee is heated, it is also suitable for cooler October evenings. Reserve well in advance for larger groups.
