Wine and Enjoyment in Aalen's Old Town

The Aalen Wine and Enjoyment Festival is the culinary highlight of Aalen's early summer. For six days, from Tuesday, June 2nd, to Sunday, June 7th, 2026, the central Spritzenhausplatz transforms into an open-air wine and gastronomy festival. The event is organized by the City of Aalen's cultural department.

Regional Wines — Württemberg Meets Baden

The wine selection focuses on regional wines from the two surrounding growing regions, Württemberg and Baden. Württemberg Trollinger, Lemberger, Schwarzriesling, and Riesling meet Baden Burgundy varieties (Spätburgunder, Weißer Burgunder, Grauburgunder) and Müller-Thurgau. Participating wineries offer wines by the glass and are available for advice and explanations — gastronomy at eye level, far from mass tastings.

Spritzenhausplatz is located in the historic center of Aalen — named after the former fire station — and is one of the most charming squares in Aalen's Old Town. The seating allows for relaxed lingering, and strolling between the stalls can be enjoyed with a glass of wine in hand without the usual festival crowds.
