Pentecost Tournament Sielow — Tradition for over 50 years

Sielow is now a district of Cottbus, but for centuries it was an independent Sorbian village north of the Spreestadt. Its riding club hosts a three-day show jumping and riding tournament every year at Pentecost, which has long been known beyond regional borders. The 54th edition will take place from May 22nd to 24th, 2026 on the club's own grounds.

21 Competitions over three days

The sporting program includes 21 show jumping competitions at all levels — from riding badge competitions for young talent to the advanced S** class for the national elite. A total of five S competitions are scheduled, making Sielow one of the strongest tournaments in the state of Brandenburg in terms of facilities.

Highlights from the competition week:

• Friday evening — Jumping under floodlights (Class L): Spectacular atmosphere, the night jumping is moderated via the public address system and attracts spectators from all over Lower Lusatia.
• Saturday — Full competition day with competitions of several classes, intermission show program, and catering on site.
• Sunday — Sparkasse Grand Prix (S**): The highlight of the tournament, a Grand Prix with a high-level course and jump-off.

International Participation

The importance of the tournament is evident in the list of participants: In addition to show jumpers from all over Germany, starters from Poland, the Czech Republic, and other European countries regularly come to Lower Lusatia. For many young riders, Sielow is an important date on their way to higher classes.

Equestrian Sport and Folk Festival Combined

Even though the sporting demands are high, the tournament also has a folk festival character: The grounds in Sielow are open, family visits are expressly welcome, and admission is inexpensive or free. Food stalls, petting zoo areas, and an equestrian sports market round off the Pentecost weekend.
