The Burginsel in the heart of Delmenhorst is the historic center of the city – the moated castle once stood here, parts of its ramparts are still visible today in the Graftwiesen. The location of the circuit, with water views, shady trees, and nighttime illumination, makes the run an aesthetic experience.

Four Competitions for Every Ambition

The concept of the Burginsel Run appeals to a wide spectrum of runners:

• 24-hour individual: the classic main race. In 2026, it's also the German Championship over 24 hours – a magnet for the national ultra-running scene.
• 6-hour individual: for ambitious runners who want to tackle a shorter but very intense distance.
• 24-hour team: a relay format where teams rotate their members to complete as many laps as possible together.
• 3-hour junior run: for the next generation.

1.34 km Circuit – Day and Night

The circuit measures exactly 1.34 km and leads through the Graftwiesen around the Burginsel. During the day, the course is shaded; at night, it is illuminated with light installations. The atmosphere shifts from the busy day with spectators along the route to a quiet, almost meditative night phase, where runners complete their laps in the glow of lanterns.

Live Music and Laser Show

The accompanying program keeps the spirits high for the entire 24 hours. Country Rock and Blues Rock bands play at the festival tent, culinary stalls offer food and drinks, and a spectacular laser show takes place at 11 PM. Families and fans are also welcome.
