Club Anniversary: Two-day festival weekend of Turnerbund 1876 with Cover-Up, Flohzirkus Orquestra, and Bullybaby
When a club celebrates its 150th birthday, it's a rarity in Germany — and Turnerbund 1876 Dillweißenstein e.V. is making it a highlight: On September 12th and 13th, 2026, the sports grounds in Hinteres Tal and the Nagoldhalle will transform into a two-day festival stage. The club looks back on 150 years of gymnastics, dance, and sports tradition — it is one of the oldest sports clubs in the Enzkreis and in the Pforzheim district of Dillweißenstein.
With over 700 members, Turnerbund 1876 Dillweißenstein is more than just a traditional gymnastics club today. Its offerings range from children's gymnastics and parent-child gymnastics to apparatus gymnastics, athletics, dance groups, volleyball, table tennis, walking, yoga, Pilates, and purely hobby sports for seniors. The motto "athletic performance without pressure" describes the club's philosophy. During the festival weekend, all departments will present themselves with demonstrations, participatory activities, and competitions — experience the club's full diversity in one compact weekend.
The musical program is diverse. On Friday evening, local heroes Cover-Up will play — a Pforzheim cover band playing pop and rock classics, perfect for kicking off the festival. Saturday is the main evening with the Flohzirkus Orquestra — a quirky big band from the Stuttgart area with brass, folk, and polka influences — and finally Bullybaby, an indie rock band with strong regional ties. The festival tent stage in the Nagoldhalle offers around 800 seats.
The sports program is the core of the anniversary. The gymnasts will give demonstrations on the floor, high bar, balance beam, and rings. The volleyball and table tennis departments will organize tournaments for club members and guests. The dance department will present choreographies from various disciplines — from hip-hop to show dance. Between program items, there will be participatory activities for non-athletes too — small skill stations, climbing towers, and trampoline jumping for children.
The club ladies and friendly local clubs will provide catering. You'll find Swabian specialties, grilled sausages, fries, vegetarian options, and a cake buffet, along with beer, wine, water, and soft drinks. A dedicated play area with a bouncy castle, craft workshop, and face painting will be set up for children. The festival tent is arranged for comfortable seating — families can eat while the children play.
The district of Dillweißenstein is one of the southern districts of Pforzheim, idyllically located in the Nagold valley at the transition to the northern Black Forest. With around 6,000 inhabitants, Dillweißenstein is a lively residential area with active club life — Turnerbund 1876 is the largest and oldest sports club in the district. Pforzheim itself, the "Gold City," is at the gateway to the Black Forest — known for its jewelry industry and gold processing, traditions dating back to the 18th century.
The 2026 edition marks the club's unique 150th-anniversary celebration. Anniversary events will take place throughout the year — the festival weekend in September is the highlight. On the main stage, Cover-Up (Pforzheim cover band), Flohzirkus Orquestra (Brass Big Band), and Bullybaby (Indie Rock) will perform. The club departments will showcase their skills in demonstration performances.
Turnerbund 1876 opens its sports grounds to everyone — non-members are also warmly invited. Families will find play activities for children, the festival tent offers catering and seating, and the sports grounds become a space for movement for all.
