A Century of Fire Brigade Tradition
The Kleineutersdorf Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded in 1926 — as a small village community, the population felt obliged to establish its own fire protection. Throughout the 20th century — through two world wars, the Nazi era, GDR times, and reunification — the fire brigade maintained its function. In 2026, the anniversary festival will celebrate a century of voluntary service.
Three Days of Anniversary Festivities
The festival runs from June 27th to 29th, 2026, in the center of Kleineutersdorf. The program includes a parade, demonstrations by friendly fire brigades from the Saale-Holzland district (technical assistance, firefighting demonstrations, historical equipment), music with a brass band, and dancing in the festival tent. A classic fire brigade anniversary event — driven by volunteerism and community spirit.
Kleineutersdorf in the Saale-Holzland
Kleineutersdorf is a very small municipality in the Saale-Holzland district in southern Thuringia — a few hundred inhabitants, nestled between the valleys of the Saale and Roda rivers. The administrative community Südliches Saaletal coordinates administrative tasks. Fire brigade anniversaries are special festive days in this sparsely populated area — they bring together not only the local community but also the fire brigades from several neighboring villages.

From June 27th to 29th, 2026, Kleineutersdorf celebrates its 100-year fire brigade tradition. The program in the village center includes a parade, demonstrations by friendly fire brigades from the Saale-Holzland district, brass music, and a festival tent with dancing. An event that doesn't happen every year — the highlight of the association's history between its founding in 1926 and its centenary in 2026.
