Club anniversary and Schützenfest at the Schützenhaus Stockstadt am Main
Schützenlust Stockstadt am Main 1926 e.V. was founded in 1926 as a local sports shooting club — at a time when many new shooting clubs emerged in Bavaria and Hesse after World War I. The club colors green-white and the shooting crest have been part of the club's identity ever since. In 2026, the club is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a year-long jubilee program — the central highlight is the grand anniversary Schützenfest on Sunday, July 19th, 2026.
Stockstadt am Main is a market town in the Lower Franconian district of Aschaffenburg, located directly on the Main River. With around 8,000 inhabitants, it is one of the larger suburbs of Aschaffenburg on the Main — known for its harbor, iron foundry tradition, and a rich club landscape. The Bavarian Sports Shooters Association organizes the Main-Spessart-Stockstadt shooting district here, with Schützenlust Stockstadt serving as its headquarters.
The club has packed the anniversary year into an extensive program structure that spans the entire year:
Schützenlust Stockstadt is not only a festival club but also successful in sports. Both air rifle teams have completed their preliminary rounds in the 2025/26 season: the first team secured second place in the regional top league with a narrow winning streak, and the top shooter achieved 386 rings. The second team (promoted to a higher league) fought for third place with 1,070 rings — after a close defeat by three rings.
The anniversary year offers an opportunity to showcase the diverse club life: regular training evenings, competition trips, social gatherings, youth development, and the entire volunteer commitment that sustains a 100-year-old club. The residents of Stockstadt are involved in the celebrations and events.
The 100th anniversary of Schützenlust Stockstadt features seven festive events spread throughout the year. The central highlight is the Anniversary Schützenfest on Sunday, July 19th, 2026 — a festive event with guests of honor, awards for long-standing members, a shooting competition, a communal feast, and a musical program at the Schützenhaus.
In addition, the regular club festivals during the anniversary year are particularly festive — such as the District King's Ball, the Harvest Festival, and the Pretzel Shoot at the end of the year.
