About 100 Years MV Brunken
Musikverein Brunken 1926 e.V. is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026. To mark the occasion, the traditional Westerwald association is hosting a four-day anniversary festival from May 22nd to 25th in the large festival tent on Hachenburger Straße. With a top-class musical program — featuring ISI GLÜCK, BREITNER, FIRLEFANZ, and a grand festival concert on Sunday — the 100th birthday of this distinguished Westerwald association will be celebrated in fitting style.
The association has been awarded the Pro Musica Plaque by the Federal President, one of the highest honors for voluntary musical commitment in Germany. Several hundred musicians will be active on and off stage during the festival weekend.
100 Years of Musical Tradition
Musikverein Brunken was founded in 1926 and in 2026 looks back on a century of voluntary musical cultivation. During this time, the association has trained generations of musicians, given countless concerts, participated in parades, and significantly shaped the cultural life of the Westerwald community of Brunken (Verbandsgemeinde Hachenburg). The Pro Musica Plaque from the Federal President — one of the highest awards for non-professional music associations in Germany — honors this hundred-year achievement.
Four Days of Celebration
The festival weekend from May 22nd to 25th, 2026, is divided into four themed days:
Friday, May 22nd: “Back to Brunken”
The opening is dedicated to the association's history. A retrospective performance — “Back to Brunken” — honors 100 years of Musikverein history with anecdotes, historical recordings, former members, and a nostalgic program.
Saturday, May 23rd: “Playa de Brunken”
Saturday transforms the festival tent into a Caribbean party — “Playa de Brunken”. Headliners include ISI GLÜCK, the Ballermann star and mood-maker, as well as BREITNER and FIRLEFANZ. A hot party night is guaranteed.
Sunday, May 24th: Festival Concert and Grand Parade
Sunday is the traditional highlight: The grand festival concert takes place in the festival tent at 11 AM. In the afternoon, a large parade winds through Brunken — featuring friendly music associations from the region, marching bands, clubs, and numerous floats. A total of several hundred musicians will participate.
Monday, May 25th: “Brunken and Friends”
The celebration concludes with the “Brunken and Friends” morning pint — friendly associations, long-time companions, and families of the Musikverein come together to round off the anniversary in a convivial atmosphere.
In the Large Festival Tent
A large, heated festival tent will be erected on Hachenburger Straße for the anniversary festival. With ample seating, a large stage, catering, and all the comforts for a four-day event. Tickets are available in advance through WW-Events.

The 100 Years Musikverein Brunken anniversary festival in 2026 takes place from Friday, May 22nd to Monday, May 25th in the large festival tent on Hachenburger Straße. The opening is the “Back to Brunken” evening, on Saturday the “Playa de Brunken” heats up with ISI GLÜCK, BREITNER, and FIRLEFANZ, Sunday features the grand festival concert and the large parade, and Monday concludes the anniversary with “Brunken and Friends.”

Tips
For the party nights with ISI GLÜCK and co., be sure to secure tickets early — the festival tent fills up quickly. For the parade on Sunday afternoon, find a spot along the route in good time. Accommodation is available in Hachenburg and the surrounding area.
