Climax of the rose bloom in Zweibrücken Rosengarten with a light festival and fireworks
The Zweibrücken Rosengarten, with over 50,000 roses in more than 2,000 varieties, is one of the most important rose gardens in Europe. Parterres, avenues, and themed areas extend over approximately 4 hectares. The main bloom traditionally falls in June — the Rosentage on the third weekend of June mark the annual highlight.
The artistic centerpiece of the Rosentage is the 'Festival of 1000 Lights' on Saturday evening. Thousands of colored candles and electric lights illuminate the rose parterres and paths; classic avenues become tunnels of light, individual parterres become color compositions. Live music accompanies the evening, and a festive fireworks display forms the finale towards the end of the event.
On Sunday, the Rosengarten offers free guided tours. Trained garden guides explain the variety, care, history, and symbolism of the roses. The tours are designed for both beginners and advanced rose lovers.
Zweibrücken has borne the nickname 'Rose City' for decades. The Rosentage are the most important showcase of this self-image, attracting thousands of visitors annually from the region, Germany, and neighboring countries. The Rosentage combine horticultural tradition with an attractive event format.
The 2026 Rosentage once again mark the annual highlight of the Rosengarten season. Thousands of visitors from the Palatinate, Saarland, Lorraine, Luxembourg, and beyond travel to experience the iconic light festival and the fully bloomed roses.
