Rock festival at the historic Old Brickworks in Twistringen with international acts and a free family day
The Alte Ziegelei in Twistringen is a technical monument preserved and used for cultural events by the association Freunde der Alten Ziegelei e.V. With the Ziegelei Open Air, the association has created a festival that is musically ambitious while also using its unusual setting as a trademark. Brick walls, chimneys, and historical machinery meet stage technology and festival crowds.
The 2026 lineup combines international rock bands and emerging acts: Dutch band DeWolff, with their retro-infused Southern Rock, is a staple of the European festival scene; French guitarist Laura Cox brings Blues-Rock and Boogie; British band The Lottery Winners deliver indie-pop with hit potential. More bands will be announced in the weeks leading up to the festival.
A special feature of the Ziegelei Open Air is the Family Day on Sunday: admission is free, and the program is designed to be family-friendly. Children under 13 generally have free admission to all festival days – an important signal that appeals to young families and positions the festival as a multi-generational experience.
Camping is possible on the festival grounds, making the Ziegelei Open Air a true festival weekend. Travel is via the B51 or by train to Twistringen.
Three days of festival in an industrial setting mean a special mix of rock music, festival life, and family-friendliness. The association Freunde der Alten Ziegelei makes a statement with the festival for volunteer-run culture in rural areas.
The final performance schedule with all bands will be published by the organizer in good time at ziegelei-twistringen.de.
