Information
Ortsgemeinde Bann, bann.de.
The Worschtzippelfest Bann is one of the traditional summer festivals of the municipality of Bann in the Kaiserslautern district, located between Landstuhl and Queidersbach in the Palatinate Forest. From June 26 to 27, 2026, the small Westrich community invites you to its marketplace for a two-day village festival with Palatinate character.
Palatinate Linguistic Joy
The unusual name "Worschtzippelfest" is a typical example of the love of Palatinate people for their own dialect. "Worschtzippel" refers to the end piece of a sausage – the piece that remains when slicing. In everyday Palatinate language, the word has a humorous and affectionate sound and is representative of the region's down-to-earth, convivial lifestyle.
Festival at the Marketplace
Bann's marketplace is the venue for the festival. Beer benches are set up, a stage is erected, and the local clubs – including the sports club, fire department, and singing club – take care of the catering. Sausages of all kinds will be sizzling on the grill, of course: Bratwurst, Palatinate Saumagen sausages, Schwenkbraten, and fries. This is accompanied by draft beer, Palatinate wine, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Live Music and Sociability
Bands and DJs will provide the atmosphere on both evenings. The program ranges from Palatinate dialect music to cover classics and party hits. The marketplace becomes a dance floor where generations come together.
Sunday with Family Program
Sunday is more focused on the early-evening get-together (Frühschoppen) and family. After lunch, coffee and cake characterize the afternoon, often served by the women's club or the parish. Children's games and small activities complement the program.
Identity of a Small Community
For the approximately 2,000 inhabitants of Bann, the Worschtzippelfest is an important date in the club calendar. It strengthens the community's identity, promotes cooperation between clubs, and brings former residents from all over the region back home for a weekend.
