Expo Park as a Festival Area
The Expo Park was created for the EXPO 2000 World Expo in Hannover and has since been an open urban district featuring remnants of the original architecture, vast green spaces, a distinctive park around the Park Café, and an impressive sightline to the nearby exhibition center. This blend of architectural history, urban expanse, and industrial backdrop makes the location one of the most unusual festival sites in the region.
Two Days, Multiple Stages
The festival runs on Saturday and Sunday, from 2 PM until the evening. On multiple stages, eight DJs and live acts perform each day. The musical focus includes House, Techno, Melodic Techno, Progressive, and electronic live concepts. The booking aims for a mix of international headliners, German acts, and regional talents.
Musical Firework Display to Conclude the Day
A special feature of the festival is the musical firework display at the end of each day. Both festival days conclude with a pyrotechnic choreography, precisely synchronized to a musical composition and launched over the festival grounds. This program element sets Wonderworld apart from typical electronic music festivals and creates a shared, collective moment at the end of each day.
Atmosphere and Concept
The festival is designed as a high-quality, design-oriented format. Visual installations, selected food trucks, lounge areas, and careful lighting design of the stage areas shape its appearance. The fifth edition in 2026 builds on the experiences of previous years and further develops the format.
Wonderworld Festival — edition 2026
In 2026, Wonderworld continues its proven concept while carefully evolving it. The blend of electronic music, design-oriented festival aesthetics, and the unusual setting of the Expo Park are the defining characteristics of the format.
The booking for the fifth edition will be communicated gradually throughout spring and summer 2026. International acts from the European House and Techno scene, as well as selected German and regional artists, are expected.
