Newly conceived Palatinate Castle Festival with illumination, whisky specialties, and entertainment program
Wolf of Winestreet is a newly conceived Palatinate Castle Festival, taking place for the first time in its current format in 2026. The format is the successor to the well-known "Wolfsgeheul" festival, which was regularly held at Wolfsburg Castle in previous years. With the new English name — an allusion to the highly dramatic film "Wolf of Wall Street" — the event gains a more modern profile and a fresh brand identity.
The venue is the Wolfsburg Castle ruins — the medieval Palatinate architectural monument above Neustadt an der Weinstraße, which is maintained voluntarily by the Wolfsburgverein Neustadt e.V. and used for special events.
The 2026 edition will take place from Saturday, September 12th to Sunday, September 13th, 2026 — a September weekend with often mild weather, ideal for a castle festival with evening opening.
Saturday, September 12th, starting in the afternoon, marks the festive opening. Highlights:
Sunday, September 13th, 2026 offers a colorful entertainment program — family-oriented, with cultural and culinary offerings. Details will be published by the Wolfsburgverein in due course.
Wolf of Winestreet appeals to Palatinate insiders and visitors to the Palatinate who are looking for a modern festival concept in a historic setting — a blend of medieval castle romance, contemporary festival culture, and curated culinary enjoyment.
The premiere of Wolf of Winestreet 2026 combines the tradition of the well-known Wolfsgeheul festival with a new, more modern festival concept. The exact program for 2026 will be published by the Wolfsburgverein in the summer. The central cornerstones are already known from local sources:
The event is part of the rich Palatinate festival culture, which attracts thousands of guests to the Neustadt an der Weinstraße region every year. The combination of wine culture, Palatinate hospitality, and established festival traditions forms the unmistakable identity of this Palatinate festival institution.
Opening of the festivities from the afternoon. Reception of guests in the castle ruins. Opening of the whisky tasting stands with Palatinate whisky specialties — a still young, but qualitatively convincing Palatinate distilling tradition.
At dusk, romantic illumination of the medieval castle ruins — the walls, towers, and ramparts are bathed in atmospheric light. Palatinate live music accompanies the evening with a fitting acoustic program.
Colorful entertainment program — likely family-oriented with cultural, culinary, and possibly playful offerings. Detailed information will be published by the Wolfsburgverein in due course.
