Three weekends of open-air concerts and family entertainment at the Platz an der Lieser with choir festival, pop, jazz, and LiveVibe
The Wittlich Summer of Events is the central urban summer festival format of the district capital. For three consecutive weekends – from June 5th to 21st, 2026 – the Platz an der Lieser transforms into an open festival ground with a stage, seating, and catering. Unlike the Säubrennerkirmes in August, the Summer of Events focuses on a carefully selected concert program and family offerings.
Concerts are the focus on Friday and Saturday evenings. The 2026 program showcases a wide range: from the Choir Festival of the District Choir Association to pop-jazz acts like TINNEF and bands like Dave DeBourg and LiveVibe, various styles and formats alternate. The stage at the Platz an der Lieser is large enough for medium-sized ensembles and equipped with professional technology.
Sundays are consistently dedicated to family and children's programming. Interactive activities, children's concerts, craft sessions, and age-appropriate performances provide a distinct profile. This makes the Summer of Events one of the few major Wittlich events that structurally cater to families.
Admission to the Summer of Events is free. Visitors only pay for food and drinks on-site. This concept allows for low-threshold access and has made the Summer of Events one of the most popular city events.
The following program items for 2026 are confirmed based on preliminary announcements: Choir Festival of the District Choir Association on June 12th, TINNEF (Pop-Jazz) on June 18th, Dave DeBourg on June 19th, LiveVibe on June 20th. Further program items will be published on the City of Wittlich website.
The 2026 edition continues the proven format. Over three weekends, the City of Wittlich offers a dense open-air program with musical highlights on Friday and Saturday evenings and family programs on Sundays.
The stage at the Platz an der Lieser will be set up and used throughout the three weekends, ensuring professional technical infrastructure is available.
