Twilight Shopping with a Dress Code

Over the years, the Wittlich twilight shopping series has become one of the defining formats for Wittlich's city centre. Several times a year, the city centre transforms into an open stage late on Thursday afternoons and evenings: shops extend their opening hours, gastronomy spills out into the squares, bands play, DJs spin. The summer edition carries the motto “Wittlich in White” – guests are asked to appear in white, and they do.

Summer, White, and Stages in the City

The evening begins in the late afternoon. Even during a shopping stroll, you'll see guests dressed in white in the city centre, at the cafés and bars. As dusk falls – hence the name – the actual stage programme begins: bands play pop, soul, covers, jazz, or electronic dance music on several stages distributed throughout the city centre. Light installations and white decorations provide visual accents.

Gastronomy and Mosellan Conviviality

Wittlich's gastronomy plays a central role: cafés, restaurants, and bars open outdoor areas, supplemented by street food stalls in the squares, cocktail bars, and wine stands. Moselle Riesling in a champagne flute, draft beer, aperitifs, tapas – the mix is deliberately international, with Mosellan roots. “Wittlich in White” is one of those urban events where the Säubrennerstadt shows its most relaxed, festive summer side.
