Model Aircraft Community in the Hunsrück
MSC Condor Birkenfeld e.V. is one of the established model aircraft clubs in the Westhunsrück and upper Nahe region. Its model aircraft site between Rimsberg and Nohen offers the necessary infrastructure for model aircraft of all classes – from gliders to electrically powered sport models to large models with internal combustion engines and model jets. Several times a year, the club opens its grounds for supra-regional flying events.
Whitsun for Flying
The Whitsun event is the most traditional date in the MSC Condor calendar. Active pilots often arrive on Whitsun Saturday with campers and workshop trailers, set up their models, and use the long weekend for relaxed training and demonstration flights in the community. Anyone who wants to fly in a new model, test a special maneuver plan, or simply enjoy flying with colleagues will find themselves here. Spectators can visit the site and observe the proceedings from a safe distance.
Model Diversity and Club Life
Models of the most diverse designs are on display – elegant gliders, agile aerobatic models, large semi-scale replicas of historical aircraft, fast jets with turbine engines. On the edge of the field, enthusiasts chat, exchange experiences, and discuss new construction projects. A small club kitchen provides drinks and snacks, and overnight camping is possible on request.
