Westhofener Markt and Festival of Arts

The Westhofener Markt, with the parallel 'Festival of Arts', is a special combination in the Rheinhessen festival calendar. Organized by the Heimatverein Westhofen e.V. – the same association that also organizes the traditional Grape Blossom Festival in June – the event combines several worlds of experience in one weekend.

Three Weekend Days, Four Worlds

Over the weekend, four clearly defined worlds of experience emerge on Westhofen's market square: the Street Food Mile with international street food stalls, the Discovery Market with regional crafts and products, Live Music on the festival stage, and the parallel Festival of Arts with art installations, performances, and readings.

Wingertsheisjerwanderung

A special element is the Wingertsheisjerwanderung – a guided walk through the vineyards to the traditional vineyard houses around Westhofen. These 'Wingertsheisjer' are part of the historic wine-growing landscape and are particularly celebrated during the walk. Rheinhessen wines are served at wine stations.

Festival of Arts

The two-day Festival of Arts – woven into the market weekend – sets a clear cultural accent. Local and regional artists present their works, performances, and workshops. The concept shows that a Rheinhessen town festival can be more than just a market and a festival tent – it can also be a stage for contemporary art.

Heimatverein as Organizer

The Heimatverein Westhofen e.V. is the organizer of the event. With numerous volunteers, collaborations with local restaurateurs and vintners, and the art scene, a program is put together that is unusually diverse.

Westhofen as a Festival Location

With the market and Festival of Arts, the Grape Blossom Festival, and other events, Westhofen positions itself as a culturally active community in the Wonnegau. This festival culture has become part of the place's identity.
