End of a Festive Year

With the Westerwald Oktoberfest on October 23, 2026, the municipality of Wallmerod will officially conclude an extraordinary festive year. The 750th anniversary of Wallmerod (first documented mention on February 4, 1276) spanned the entire year 2026 and combined traditional events with special programs into a packed anniversary calendar. The Oktoberfest serves as a festive closing event where guests, clubs, and volunteers can look back together and wind down the festive year.

Festival Tent Atmosphere in the Westerwald

Bavarian-Westerwald Oktoberfests are a tradition in the region. Wallmerod stages the event with a large festival tent, traditional costumes, hearty music, beer steins, festival beer, and typical festival tent food ranging from pretzels to roast chicken to hearty main courses. A live band or DJ program provides the musical accompaniment for the evening.

Community and Commitment

The event is intended as a thank you to everyone who supported the anniversary year: volunteers, clubs, sponsors, the business association, and the local council. Speeches, honors, and brief recaps of the festive year accompany the evening without interrupting the festival tent character.

Location and Accessibility

Wallmerod is conveniently located on the B 8 federal highway between Limburg and Hachenburg and is the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde of the same name. The festival grounds in the town center are easily accessible; external parking and possibly a shuttle service will be communicated by the organizer.
