Westerstede Celebrates Autumn

The Westerstede Autumn Market is the autumnal counterpart to the big spring market and one of the most important Volksfeste (traditional festivals) in the Ammerland. The event is organized by the town of Westerstede in cooperation with the Wirtschaftsforum Westerstede e.V. The venue is Albert-Post-Platz, with ample space for carousels, a Ferris wheel, and major rides.

2026 Edition from October 30 to November 2

The 2026 edition runs from Friday, October 30, to Monday, November 2. The official opening takes place on Friday, October 31 (Reformation Day), at 4 PM by the mayor. The highlight of the opening day is the grand fireworks display at 9 PM over Albert-Post-Platz.

Program and Atmosphere

For the following three days, the market will run continuously with a classic funfair program:

• Rides: Bumper cars, Ferris wheel, Break Dance, Music Express, children's carousels
• Throwing stalls, grabber machines, shooting galleries
• Food stalls with bratwurst, fries, almonds, gingerbread hearts, doughnuts, crêpes
• Party program in the festival tent on Friday and Saturday evenings
• Family Day on Sunday with reduced prices for rides
• Reformation Day as an extended weekend brings additional guests

Westerstede — A Town of Festivals

With its spring market, autumn market, and winter village, Westerstede is one of those towns in Ammerland that organizes three major Volksfeste throughout the year. The Autumn Market traditionally concludes the open-air season in the town center before the Winter Village Christmas Market reopens it.
