Musikalischer Sommer Neuerburg (45th Edition)

The Musikalischer Sommer Neuerburg is one of the oldest and most renowned summer cultural festivals in the Südeifel region. The 45th edition in 2026 continues a tradition that has shaped the summer cultural life of the small Eifel town of Neuerburg since 1982, attracting guests from the entire region and neighboring countries Luxembourg and Belgium.

Neuerburg in the Südeifel

Neuerburg is a small town in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm, scenically located in the Felsenland Südeifel. With its castle, Stadtpark, and historic old town, it boasts a remarkable cultural backdrop. The Musikalischer Sommer utilizes this atmosphere over the summer months for a diverse program.

Stadtpark and Renovated Market Square

The main venue is Neuerburg's Stadtpark with its old trees and a small open-air stage. From September 2026, the program will move to the newly renovated market square in the town center – a deliberate reorientation that marks the transition from the park to the city center after the completion of the market square renovation.

Stylistic Breadth

The program covers a wide musical spectrum:

• Brass Bands: Classical brass music with the music association MV 1821 and guest orchestras.
• Rock and Pop: Live bands from the region and beyond.
• Chanson: French and German-language chanson evenings.
• Folk: Regional and international folk music.
• Dance Festival: Embedded Night2Dance on July 4, 2026 (KV 3-6-9 Neuerburg).
• Summer Concert MV 1821: June 12, 2026, at 7:30 PM.
• Johannisfest MV 1821: June 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

Long Tradition Since 1982

With 45 years of uninterrupted tradition, the Musikalischer Sommer Neuerburg is one of the long-standing cultural series in the Eifel. The connection between the town, local associations (especially the music association MV 1821 and KV 3-6-9), and the local population sustains this tradition over the decades.
