Fehrbellin Children & Youth Festival

A Festival for Children and Young People

At a time when many smaller Brandenburg communities lament a lack of offerings for young people, Fehrbellin is taking a different approach: The International Youth Network (IJN) e.V. organizes a festival every June that is specifically designed for children and young people. Not a classic family festival, but a program that takes young people seriously as active participants.

Kurfürstenpark as the Festival Site

Kurfürstenpark in Fehrbellin is located on Dechtower Weg and is one of the greenest areas in the town. With meadows, play areas, shade, and enough space for stages and workshop tents, it offers the ideal backdrop for a one-day festival. The program includes creative workshops — from graffiti and music to dance and theater — as well as live music and outdoor play activities.

Fehrbellin — Battlefield and Tourist Magnet

Fehrbellin in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district is historically famous for the Battle of Fehrbellin (1675), in which the Great Elector defeated the Swedes — a key event in Brandenburg's history. Today, the town with around 9,000 inhabitants is a gateway to the Ruppiner Seenland, one of Brandenburg's most attractive natural landscapes.

International Youth Network as Organizer

The organizer is the International Youth Network (IJN) e.V., based in Neuruppin. The association has been committed to child and youth work in the region for years and uses the Fehrbellin festival as a platform to make its work visible and to give young people a space.
