Guided 6-km wine hikes in autumn — September 12 and October 31, 2026 in the Moselle loop
WeinWandern Trittenheim is the autumn format with which the Tourist Information highlights the Middle Moselle region. In 2026, there are two dates on the calendar: September 12, when the grape harvest in the steep slopes has usually just begun, and October 31, when the autumn foliage bathes the vineyards in golden hues. Both dates offer different perspectives on the harvest, the microclimate, and Trittenheim's prime vineyard sites.
The tour is 6 kilometers long and leads through the steep slopes of the Trittenheim Moselle loop — via side paths up to the high trail, with panoramic views of the village and the Moselle river, and back through the village center. At four to five stations, Trittenheim vintners will pour their Rieslings. The selection includes dry estate wines, village wines, single-vineyard wines from Altärchen, Apotheke, and Leiterchen, as well as occasional noble sweet late harvests and sparkling wine.
The tastings are combined with small culinary snacks. Depending on the station, these can be seasonal breads with spreads, regional sausage and cheese specialties, or small warm dishes. The culinary offerings are coordinated with the Trittenheim vintners to match the wines being poured — a small taste of the food pairing trend that is increasingly shaping the Moselle region.
The local guide will explain the location, soil, microclimate, and vintage at each station. This creates a common thread that links the wine with the landscape. For first-time visitors to the Moselle, WeinWandern is an ideal introduction to the world of Moselle Rieslings; for enthusiasts, the tour opens up new perspectives on Trittenheim's vineyard structure.
Both 2026 dates follow the same concept: a 6-kilometer guided wine hike through the Trittenheim steep slopes with tastings at several stations. The day's schedule includes meeting in the village center, ascending into the vineyards, stations along the high trail, and returning to the village.
The Trittenheim Tourist Information coordinates registration, route guidance, and arrangements with participating vintners. The exact hourly schedule and participating wineries will be communicated in advance.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the organizer in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
