Four-day courtyard festival in the Brauneberg wineries with wine tastings, culinary delights, and music
Brauneberg, with its "Juffer-Sonnenuhr" site, is one of the most renowned wine-growing communities on the Middle Mosel. As early as 1868, Brauneberg wine was classified at the highest level in a Prussian site classification – even ahead of sites in other Mosel towns that are often more prominent today. This historical significance is still reflected today in the quality of the Brauneberg wineries, many of which continue their tradition in family-run businesses.
From Saturday, June 20th, to Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, the Brauneberg vintners will open their courtyards for a joint Weinhöfefest. The focus will be on Rieslings from various sites, complemented by Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Sekt. Several courtyards will also serve older vintages and specialties such as Trockenbeerenauslese or Eiswein.
The wines will be accompanied by a wide range of food: Flammkuchen, Bratwurst, Schiefertaler ham, cheese platters, soups, salads, and sweet specialties. Several courtyards also offer full meals in their inner courtyards and gardens. Live music in individual courtyards creates additional atmosphere without losing the intimate, regionally rooted character of the festival.
The date at the end of June coincides with the astronomical midsummer – a time when the long evenings create a special atmosphere in the courtyards. The vegetation is in full bloom, the vineyards are green and lush, and the mild summer weather allows for relaxed visits to multiple courtyards.
The 2026 edition continues the proven concept. The participating Brauneberg vintners coordinate their opening hours and joint communication, while maintaining their individual atmosphere.
Those planning a wine tour on the Middle Mosel can easily combine the Weinhöfefest with hikes on the Moselsteig trail – the steep slopes around Brauneberg are among the most impressive sections of the entire long-distance hiking path.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in early summer. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of Mosel courtyard festivals:
The list of participating Brauneberg vintners will be published on the website of the municipality of Brauneberg.
