Weinfest "Zum Wohl Riol"

The wine festival "Zum Wohl Riol" is one of the most characteristic early summer wine festivals on the Middle Moselle and will take place in 2026 from June 12th to 14th directly on the riverbank of Riol. It is organized by the municipality of Riol in cooperation with local wineries and associations.

The festival motto for 2026 is "We are 2026 – Riol plays world-class" – an allusion to the sporting events of the year and a confident statement by the Riol vintners, whose Rieslings and other wines consistently receive high ratings and attract attention in the international wine scene. The centerpiece of the festival is the large public wine tasting on Saturday evening, June 13th, starting at 6 PM. Tickets will be available from May 25th, 2026, via Ticket Regional – the price is 33 EUR including glass, with a limit of 6 tickets per order to ensure the widest possible distribution.

Around the central wine tasting, a classic wine festival format will unfold over three days with serving at the vintners' stands, regional food (flammkuchen, bratwurst, cheese platters, etc.), live music, and a family program on Sunday. The location on the Moselle riverbank makes the festival particularly attractive: in good weather, the audience sits directly by the water, with a view of the vineyards and the loop of the Moselle.

Riol is located in the Trier-Saarburg district, in the Schweich municipality on the Roman Wine Route, between Trier and Schweich. Its accessibility via the B53, the parallel railway line, and the Moselle Cycle Path makes the wine festival interesting for both day-trippers and overnight guests. The festival is part of the region's established summer program.
