Three-day wine festival on the market square with local vintners, live music, and Nahe tapas
The Langenlonsheim Wine Festival is one of the central summer festivals of the wine town at the mouth of the Nahe and Rhine rivers. For three days, the market square around the Protestant church transforms into an open-air living room for Langenlonsheim's wine culture. Local vintners present their current vintage wines, live music accompanies the evenings, and Nahe tapas, tarte flambée, and regional specialties provide the culinary backdrop.
With over 25 wineries and more than 350 hectares of vineyards, Langenlonsheim is one of the most important wine-growing regions on the Nahe. The wine festival reflects this diversity in the heart of the town and is a meeting point for locals and visitors from the Rhine-Nahe region.
The market square around the Protestant parish church forms the historic center of Langenlonsheim. Equipped with a stage, wine stands, seating, and festive lighting, it transforms into an open festival arena on the wine festival weekend. The combination of historic surroundings and a relaxed atmosphere is what makes the festival charming.
The focus is on the vintners from Langenlonsheim themselves – established family wineries and younger businesses, each represented with their own stands. The wine cooperative and the vintner association handle the logistics, while the vintners themselves are often personally present at the stands. This creates encounters between producers and connoisseurs, as only a village wine festival can offer. Primarily Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, as well as the typical 'Schoppen' (glass of wine) varieties of the Nahe are served.
The concept of Nahe Tapas combines regional ingredients with the Spanish philosophy of small portions: small, intense taste experiences that perfectly complement the wines and allow for a lot of tasting. Tarte flambée from a wood-fired oven, vintner's platters, Spundekäs (cheese dip), lard bread, bratwurst, and small desserts round off the offering.
Bands or solo artists perform on the stage at the market square every evening of the wine festival. The repertoire ranges from cover bands and singer-songwriters to folk and rockabilly – depending on the organizer's program design. The music provides the backdrop for the convivial encounters at the wine stands.
The Langenlonsheim Wine Festival 2026 takes place from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 July on the Market Square. Langenlonsheim vintners will be serving current vintage wines, live music will accompany the evenings, and Nahe tapas and tarte flambée will complete the offering. Free admission.
