Wine festival of the Kreuznach City Winemakers on the historic Eiermarkt in the Old Town
The Eiermarkt is one of the oldest and most beautiful squares in the Old Town of Bad Kreuznach. Surrounded by historic townhouses and St. Nicholas' Church, it was once a marketplace for eggs and other poultry products. Today, it is a lively city square with restaurants, cafés, and shops, becoming one of the city's most popular spots in the summer.
The Kreuznach City Winemakers cultivate vineyards within the city limits of Bad Kreuznach, one of the few major German cities with its own viticulture. At the Eiermarkt Wine Festival, Weingut Gemünden, Weingut Paul Anheuser, Weingut Anton Finkenauer, Weingut Reichsgraf von Plettenberg, and Weingut Phillipp Dhom are among the participants. They present their Rieslings, Burgundies, Pinot Noirs, and other Nahe specialties.
With its 4th edition, the Wine Festival on the Eiermarkt has established itself as a permanent fixture in the Kreuznach summer calendar. The concept of a historic Old Town setting, high-quality city winemaker wines, and a relaxed atmosphere has gained a loyal following. Its central location makes it easy to combine with a city stroll or a visit to nearby restaurants.
Music accompanies the wine service on both festival days. On Saturday, live music plays until 11 PM, and wine service continues until midnight. The concept follows the relaxed model of an urban wine festival, focusing on tasting and socializing rather than loud partying.
The 4th edition of the Eiermarkt Wine Festival continues the rapid establishment of the event as a summer meeting point for Kreuznach wine lovers. The central Old Town location, the high-quality city winemaker wines, and the relaxed atmosphere make the format a popular alternative to the larger festivals.
The complete 2026 program will be published by the Kreuznach City Winemakers in the spring.
